چکیده

An echinoderm fauna from the San Salvatore Formation (Middle Triassic, Southern Alps) is here described in detail for first time. Identifiable crinoids and echinoids were collected three different localities: Mt. (Ticino, Switzerland), Rasa di Varese Michele (Lombardy, Italy). Crinoid taxa include Encrinus cf. aculeatus, Holocrinus sp. indet., Zardinicrinus granulosus, Encrinidae gen. et indet. Echinoid “Cidaris” roemeri, Serpianotiaris Triadocidaris transversa, an indetermined form (Cidaridae). Most of material was Varese, along with a rich upper Anisian ammonoid conodont fauna, belonging to Reitzi Zone Secedensis Zone. Migration have been documented during (from Pelsonian lower Illyrian), mainly westernmost Tethyan Realm northward Germanic basin. already reported Illyrian basin also collected, dated late (upper Z.-Secedensis Z.) suggesting that several migrated southwards Tethys realm Illyrian.

New holostean fishes (Actinopterygii: Neopterygii) from the Middle Triassic of the Monte San Giorgio (Canton Ticino, Switzerland)

The new neopterygian genus Ticinolepis, including two new species T. longaeva and T. crassidens is described from Middle Triassic carbonate platform deposits of the Monte San Giorgio. The anatomy of this fish shows a mosaic of halecomorph and ginglymodian characters and, thus, the new taxon probably represents a basal holostean. During the latest Anisian to earliest Ladinian the two new species...

The largest and most diverse collection of Pachypleurosauridae (Nothosauria, Reptilia) comes from Monte San Giorgio, Switzerland. Several hundred complete skeletons were collected from four distinct horizons of bituminous limestones and shales of Anisian-Ladinian boundary to early Ladinian age (Middle Triassic). Serpianosaurus mirigiolensis comes from the oldest strata, the Grenzbitumenzone Bed...

INFECTIOUS DISEASES Distribution and prevalence of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in Ixodes ricinus ticks of canton Ticino (Switzerland)

Free-living Ixodes ricinus ticks were collected from 12 different sites of canton Ticino, south of the Alps (Switzerland). Each tick was examined for the presence of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (sl), the etiologic agent of Lyme borreliosis using direct fluorescent antibody assay, and isolation of the bacteria. Borreliae were characterized by PCR followed by RFLP. The abundance and infection...

Angiosperm-like pollen and Afropollis from the Middle Triassic (Anisian) of the Germanic Basin (Northern Switzerland)

Here we report on angiosperm-like pollen and Afropollis from the Anisian (Middle Triassic, 247.2-242.0 Ma) of a mid-latitudinal site in Northern Switzerland. Small monosulcate pollen grains with typical reticulate (semitectate) sculpture, columellate structure of the sexine and thin nexine show close similarities to early angiosperm pollen known from the Early Cretaceous. However, they differ i...
